Amazon Launches New Delivery Station in Columbus, Georgia

The new last-mile site will enhance delivery speed and seller services, creating more than 100 full- and part-time jobs in addition to more than 100 driver opportunities

COLUMBUS, GA. – April 10, 2025 – As part of its continued investment in Georgia, Amazon today announced the opening of a new 90,000-square-foot delivery station in Columbus, GA. The delivery station will create more than 100 full- and part-time jobs, in addition to more than 100 new driver opportunities with Amazon’s Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) or through the Amazon Flex program—bringing even faster delivery and more jobs to Columbus.

Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order process and help speed up deliveries. Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighboring Amazon Fulfillment and Sortation Centers, loaded into delivery vehicles and delivered to customers. Delivery stations offer entrepreneurs the opportunity
to build their own business delivering Amazon packages, as well as independent contractors the flexibility to be their own boss and create their own schedule delivering for Amazon Flex. In total, three DSPs will operate out of the newly launched Columbus delivery station, creating more than 100 jobs on top of Amazon’s direct hires.

goods to consumers throughout the region.”

the state and strengthens our economy, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the Columbus region for years to come.”

Since 2010, Amazon has created more than 31,000 full- and part-time jobs in Georgia and invested more than $18.5 billion across the state, including infrastructure and compensation to our employees. These investments have contributed an additional $20.1 billion to the Georgia’s economy and have helped
create more than 44,700 indirect jobs on top of Amazon’s direct hires—from jobs in construction and logistics to professional services. In addition, more than 16,000 independent sellers—most of which are small and medium-sized businesses—in Georgia are selling to customers in Amazon’s store, creating thousands of additional jobs across the state.
